The general aim of our programs is to contribute towards the improvement of the quality of life for individuals and families; including physical, social, cultural, vocational and intellectual.  All programs emphasize the importance of:

  • self-directed learning and independent thought

  • a spirit of inquiry, critical thinking, problem solving, self-reliance, initiative and enterprise

  • preparation for secondary education, or working life

  • lifelong learning for children, adults and seniors

Through our programs we hope to improve the community's eating habits and increase its level of physical activity, as well as increase the community's knowledge and skills in self care, effective productivity and better home economics.

Although our organization's mission involves improving the health and livelihood of the general population of Milwaukee, World Burns is deeply committed to serving the families hardest hit by inequalities in our food system, particularly low-income families who may have little or no access to healthy foods, fitness and adequate social interactions.
